Why the Mag Sleeper?
|
|
|
First off it is made in America, by hunters for hunters. No Chinese decoys here. Besides that.
Thicker Plastic - the Mag Sleeper is made of 1/8 inch plastic. That is thicker than everybody else's. This makes the decoy stronger. Even though we don't recommend throwing them or kicking the decoy to get snow off. We know it happens. Ours will take more abuse and hold up better
Hand Painted (with very high quality paint): - When we started
making these we knew "the paint has be good and it has to stay on".
Cheap decoys use cheap paint and within a season or two the paint
looks like crap and is falling off. We wanted a paint that would look
good and stay on. After a couple of months of working with several
industrial paint companies and trying over 20 different formulations
we found "the" paint. Our paint is not cheap! We use a paint that
actually chemically bonds to the decoy body. It doesn't just sit on
top, but it creates a very thin layer between the paint and the plastic
where the two actually mix together.
FLOCKED head and tail - Extreme realism is achieved by flocking the head
and tail on the Canada MAG SLEEPER. While more fragile than the main body,
flocking still produces a durable coating that will last for many years.
Mag Sized - The decoy is 29 inches long, most standards are around 22 inches. We think our size is perfect; not so much larger than regular floaters or full bodies as to look weird, but big enough to cover some ground. Late in the season you will want to place these decoys just a few inches apart. When you're doing that it takes a lot more decoys to get a "Black Spot". The mag size will help.
Full body contact with the ground
- Unlike other shells, our decoy doesn't have the tail sticking out
in the wind; the tail goes all the way to the ground. Admittedly,
this is a compromise to the way a goose actually looks, but the advantage
is that the wind doesn't get underneath and flip the decoy.
Molded in Head - The Mag Sleeper is a one-piece decoy with the head and neck molded in. You won't believe how much faster it is to put these decoys out. Grab a stack of decoys and start walking and dropping. Four hunters can throw out 200 decoys in just 5 or 6 minutes. No heads to goof with!
THE PRICE, 189.99 per dozen - Sometimes folks will look at the decoy and the price and think, "these cost as much as regular shells, but have fewer pieces in the box, they should cost less!" That depends, do you base your purchasing decision on how many pieces of decoy parts you get for your dollar, or how effective the decoy will be. Besides, do you really want to assemble parts of decoys every morning in the dark, or just spend 5 or 10 minutes throwing out decoys and then kill some honkers? |
